OKTOBERFEST
AT THE BLACKWELL
The Blackwell's Fourth Annual Oktoberfest
will run from September through mid-November.
For your enjoyment we have a fine selection
of German beers including: Spaten Oktoberfest, Warsteiner,
Lowenbrau, St. Pauli Girl and More .. Plus
Beck's Oktoberfest on Tap!! Sussbeeren Tropfchen,
Gewurztraminer & Riesling wines produced
locally by Oregon Hill Wine Company are available by the bottle or glass.
Best of the Wurst -- An assortment of fine Usinger German meats
~~ Knackwurst (100% beef); Bratwurst (veal
& pork); Weisswurst (mild veal, inced
herb & egg); Bockwurst (pork, veal, egg,
parsley onion & spices), sauteed with
sweet onions and peppers, served with Gouda
and Jarlsberg Swiss cheeses, Crackers &
a spicy Dijon mustard sauce.
The Blackwell also serves a fine selection
of German Salads such as Waldorf salad, Cucumber Salad, Hot
string bean salad with bacon dressing, and
wilted lettuce with bacon dressing.
Schnitzels -- There is no single cut of meat more beloved
in Germany than the Schnitzel. Literally
a slice or cutlet, and always from the leg.
The same long, flat, palm shaped cut that
the Italians call Scaloppini, and the French
Escalope. The Blackwell offers a wide array
of schnitzels including Weinerschnitzel,
Schnitzel a la Holstein, Jagerschnitzel,
Schnitzel Liechtenstein, and many more!!
Other German Favorites include: Sauerbraten, Hasenpfeffer, Schweinsbraten,
and Klopse und Spatzle
Don't forget the German desserts of Carrot Cake, Black Forest Cake, Pumpkin
Roll and The Blackwell's rich Peanut Butter
Brownie Cake.
